Jessica Welsh graduated from Penn State University in 2006 with a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis on Athletic Training. While in the program, she worked with the varsity swimming & diving, track & field, and men’s soccer teams.

After graduation, Welsh worked as a personal trainer in Collegeville, PA for a short time. Realizing her true passion was working with athletes and getting them back to their sports, she then returned home to Altoona in 2008 and took an athletic training position with a local physical therapy clinic, Drayer Physical Therapy, where she worked with Altoona Area School District athletes from junior high to high school level. In 2010, Welsh then took the sole athletic trainer position with Bishop Guilfoyle High School.

During her time as an athletic trainer, Welsh has worked with many sports, such as baseball, basketball, cross country, football, gymnastics, soccer, swimming, and volleyball. Many of the athletic teams she has worked with have been District Champions, as well as state runner-up caliber.

Seeing athletes devote themselves to a sport drives Welsh to assist them with their injuries and get them back on the court or field of play as quickly as possible without risking re-injury or their health status.

During her spare time, Welsh enjoys spending time with her husband and son, running, and working out.
