PITTSBURGH, Pa. - Continuing its NCAA Division III Week announcements, the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference released its 2015-2016 Academic All-Conference Team on Wednesday, and it included 96 Penn State Altoona student-athletes.

To earn a spot on the AMCC Academic All-Conference Team, student-athletes must have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 3.2 or higher through the Fall 2015 semester. A total of 877 student-athletes were selected to the Academic All-Conference Team from the AMCC's 10 member institutions.

507 of the 877 student-athletes were tabbed as Individual Peak Performers for earning a GPA of 3.5 or higher. 55 student-athletes out of Penn State Altoona's total of 96 earned Individual Peak Performer status.

Additionally, 16 of those 96 Penn State Altoona Academic All-Conference members are recognized as part of Chi Alpha Sigma, with some student-athletes already members and others earning first-time induction into the group. Chi Alpha Sigma is the National Collegiate Student-Athlete Honor Society, which recognizes academic performance, leadership, and character for select juniors and seniors.
