Ochoa Finishes Fourth in AMCC Women's Golf Championship


10/10/2016 — WARREN, Ohio - After the second and final day of the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Championships at Avalon Lakes Golf Course on Monday, Penn State Altoona women's individual golfer Claudia Ochoa (Fairfax, VA/Robinson Secondary) took fourth place overall.

Ochoa shot 95 on Monday, a 10-stroke improvement from her score on Sunday, to finish with a two-day score of 200.

Mount Aloysius College's Rachel Mackrell won the AMCC women's individual title with a combined score of 183, and fellow Lady Mountie Kate Little was the runner-up with 184. Mount Aloysius' Courtney Link came in third with a score of 187. The Lady Mounties' Macklyn Gift rounded out the individuals by recording a two-day score of 225 to place fifth.

Ochoa competed in five rounds of golf for Penn State Altoona this fall and averaged 96.4 strokes per round, the fourth-best individual average in Lady Lions golf history.
