Mahoney Voted Second Team All-Conference

11/8/2016 — ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Penn State Altoona women’s soccer junior forward Shoshana Mahoney (Sweet Valley, PA/Lake-Lehman) was selected as a second team All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference pick on Tuesday, when the league released its soccer postseason awards.

This marks the second time in Mahoney’s three-year collegiate soccer career that she has been voted to the AMCC All-Conference Team. Last season, she was a third team All-AMCC selection.

Mahoney continued to prove herself as one of the top offensive players in the AMCC this season. The junior ranked eighth in the conference in goals scored (10) and ninth in points (22), and her tally of four game-winning goals was the third-highest mark in the league. Mahoney also finished fifth in the AMCC in shots on goal (45) and total shots attempted (70). She led Penn State Altoona in goals, points, shots on goal, and total shots, and she tied for second in assists (2).

Mahoney’s total of 10 goals this fall was the ninth-most in a single season in Penn State Altoona women’s soccer history, and she set a new program single season record for shots on goal per game, averaging 2.81 per contest during the 2016 season.

After three seasons with the Lady Lions, Mahoney ranks sixth all-time in goals scored (20) and is tied for eighth in points (43). She also ranks among the top 10 in several other career offensive categories for Penn State Altoona women’s soccer.

Players selected to the AMCC All-Conference Team are determined by a vote of the conference’s head women’s soccer coaches.
