Lions Knocked Out of ECAC Tournament With 4-1 Loss to Harrisburg

11/12/2016 — ALFRED, N.Y. - #2 Penn State Altoona men's soccer was eliminated from the Eastern College Athletic Conference's Division III Championship Tournament on Saturday night, when the Lions lost 4-1 to #3 Penn State Harrisburg in a Region 4 first round game at Alfred University's Yunevich Stadium.

Seth Murrelle (Sayre, PA/Sayre) scored his seventh goal of the season for Penn State Altoona (11-8-1, 6-2-1 AMCC). Liam Grady (West Chester, PA/Bayard Rustin) made four saves in goal.

Penn State Harrisburg (12-8, 5-4 CAC) struck first on Colby Brown's penalty shot goal at 25:50, and they doubled their lead shortly before halftime when Ethan Hoover found the back of the net at 42:30.

Just under four minutes into the second half, Penn State Altoona cut its deficit to 2-1 when Murrelle scored at the 48:23 mark.

But Penn State Harrisburg scored twice more, getting goals from Justin Elnahrawy at 60:56 and Mitchell Saye at 71:37.

Penn State Altoona held a 17-13 advantage in total shots, while shots on goal were tied 9-9 between the two squads. Penn State Harrisburg led 8-3 in corner kicks.
