Behrend Sinks Penn State Altoona Men's, Women's Swim Teams

RESULTS

11/19/2016 — ERIE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona's men's and women's swimming teams each lost to Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Penn State Behrend on Saturday afternoon, as the Lions were downed 137-63 and the Lady Lions lost 120-53.

The Penn State Altoona men's squad recorded two first place finishes on the day.

In the 100 Yard Backstroke, David Heckel (Lititz, PA/Warwick) came in first place with a time of 57.73.

In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the squad of John Polidoro (Bensalem, PA/Holy Ghost Preparatory), Tom Weir (Greensburg, PA/Hempfield), Gino Cercone (Allison Park, PA/Shaler), and Connor Fanks (Ellwood City, PA/Riverside Beaver County) took first with a time of 1:37.20.

The Lady Lions finished the day with one first place as a team.

In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, Maria Gibson (South Abington Township, PA/Abington Heights), Emily Beam (Tyrone, PA/Tyrone), Paetyn Zeamer (Manheim, PA/Manheim Central), and Christina Grieco (Monroeville, PA/Gateway) finished atop the standings with a combined time of 1:55.34.

Next up, the Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming teams return home to take on AMCC opponent Cabrini University on Friday, December 2 at 4:00 p.m. in the Adler Natatorium.
