Wilson, Nance Voted to All-AMCC Squad

2016-2017 AMCC MEN'S BASKETBALL ALL-CONFERENCE TEAM

2/28/2017 — ORCHARD PARK, N.Y. - Two Penn State Altoona men’s basketball players have been voted to the All-Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Team, as the league released its postseason awards on Tuesday.

Senior guard/forward Javon Wilson (Washington, D.C./T.C. Williams) was a first team All-Conference selection, while junior guard/forward Ishimeal Nance (Muscle Shoals, AL/Muscle Shoals/Snead State C.C.) was picked to the second team.

Wilson again proved himself to be one of the top scorers in the AMCC this season, having an outstanding year to help lead the Lions to their first conference tournament berth since 2009-2010. In the AMCC, he ranks second in steals (64) and three-pointers made (60), third in points per 40 minutes (24.5), fourth in points (467), points per game (18.0), and field goals made (158), fifth in assists (92), sixth in free throws made (91), and ninth in free throw percentage (78.4%). Wilson also ranks among the national Division III leaders in steals (21st) and steals per game (22nd).

This season, Wilson was twice been named the AMCC Player of the Week, posted three 30-plus point games against conference opponents, and also became the sixth player in Lions history to surpass 1,000 career points. The senior was a third team All-AMCC pick last season.

In his first season with Penn State Altoona men's basketball after transferring to the campus, Nance made a big impact at both ends of the court to help the Lions ascend the standings. In the AMCC, he ranks third in free throws made (95), fourth in defensive rebounds (132), fifth in steals (51), points (396), total rebounds (181), and field goal percentage (52.7%), sixth in rebounds per game (6.7), seventh in points per game (14.7), and eighth in blocks (28) and field goals made (144).

Nance posted four 20-plus point games against AMCC opponents this season.

Penn State Altoona men’s basketball’s season continues this Wednesday, March 1, when the Lions travel to Bethany College for a first round Eastern College Athletic Conference Division III Championship Tournament game at 7:00 p.m.
