Men's Volleyball Sweeps Wilkes 3-0

4/5/2017 — WILKES-BARRE, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's volleyball ventured back into non-conference play on Wednesday night, and the Lions defeated Wilkes University 3-0 at the Marts Center.

Penn State Altoona (22-5) won the three sets by scores of 25-15, 25-20, and 25-9.

Bradley Colditz (Upper St. Clair, PA/Upper St. Clair) led the Lions in kills with 12 and also had five digs. Jacob Byers (Level Green, PA/Penn Trafford) had nine kills, two solo blocks, and one block assist.

Justin Bannister (Willow Hill, PA/Fannett-Metal) recorded six kills and two block assists. Brandon Arentz (Mount Wolf, PA/Northeastern) had a match-high six total blocks, accumulating three solo blocks and three block assists.

Billy Smith (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) led the team in set assists with 16 to go along with eight digs. Tommy Kisick (Latrobe, PA/Greater Latrobe) added 14 assists.

Waldemar Rivera-Berrios (Toa Alta, Puerto Rico/Samuel Clemens) led all players in the match with 14 digs.

Lions volleyball is back in action this Saturday, April 8, taking part in a non-conference tri-match at Stevenson University. Penn State Altoona faces Eastern Mennonite University at 4:00 p.m. that day, then plays host Stevenson at 6:00 p.m.
