Patrick Maurice "Moe" Taylor is in his eighth year as the Lions' head men’s soccer coach. Patrick, or “Moe,” was the assistant coach since 2002 before taking the helm in 2010. In his inaugural season as the head coach, he was named the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference's Coach of the Year in men's soccer.

Patrick needs no introduction to the central Pennsylvania soccer community, as he has been involved in coaching the youth of the area since 1995.

Born in Kingston, Jamaica, Patrick was never far from a soccer field, beginning in grade school and spanning all the way to Division One play on the island of Bermuda. He holds a “C” license from the United States Soccer Federation, and he was the director of coaching for the Altoona Area Youth Soccer Club for many years.

Patrick’s coaching experience is extensive, as he has overseen numerous teams, starting in 1995 with an undefeated U-14 Altoona Youth Club team. His tenure as coach with the club included scores of tournament wins and two PA West Cup second place finishes and one third place result. In doing so, his two cup finalist teams were designated as Premier teams, a distinction given to only four club teams in western Pennsylvania. His teams have often described Patrick as a “player’s coach” – someone who completely devotes himself to the game and his players as both a leader and a mentor.

In 2000 and 2001, Patrick organized and ran his own youth soccer camp titled “Taylor Made Soccer” for the central Pennsylvania soccer community. Both camps were very successful, as hundreds of younger players had a week of fun and a chance to experience “Moe’s” unique approach to training. Patrick has also conducted pre-season training for the Hollidaysburg Area High School girls program for the last six years.

Patrick’s hobbies off the pitch include Tae Kwon-Do and Mixed Martial Arts. He is a talented martial artist and a very successful tournament competitor throughout the central Pennsylvania circuit.

Patrick resides with his wife, Jen, and his two sons, Alex and Aiden.
