Swim Teams Swept by Alfred State


11/19/2017 — ALTOONA, Pa. - Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming hosted Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference opponent Alfred State College on Saturday afternoon at the Altoona Area High School Pool, and the Lions and Lady Lions both lost.

Penn State Altoona's men lost 177-65, while the women were defeated 188-65.

Andrew Lesnett (Middletown, NY/Minisink Valley) was a highlight for the men's team, as he placed first in the 200 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:58.35.

On the women's side, Danielle Bye (Hockessin, DE/Cab Calloway School of the Arts) recorded three individual first place finishes.

In the 100 Yard Butterfly, Bye came in first place with a time of 1:04.94. Several events later, she won the 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 1:00.73. Bye recorded her third win of the afternoon in the 200 Yard I.M., in which she came in first place with a time of 2:27.38.

Penn State Altoona men's and women's swimming returns to action on Friday, December 1, when the teams hit the road to compete against AMCC opponent Cabrini University. That meet begins at 6:00 p.m.
